Finally, the culmination of all this pedestal malarchy is complete!
The whole reason I discovered the disintegrated bolts was to run wiring for new helm instrument displays.
It is finally done. Boo-yah!

Now for some sad news. Two members of the sailing community who have been influential to me have recently perished.
Patrick Childress of SV Brickhouse died days ago from coronavirus. I was just chatting with him and his wife in YouTube a month ago or so. He’s got some great how-to vids, not a small quantity of articles in the various sailing publications, and was the one who inspired me to get a laser for self defense, and wrap-around sunglasses. His wife and sailing partner Rebecca has also contracted the disease but seems to be faring well so far. Please consider contributing to her GoFundMe.
Brion Toss, author of “The Complete Rigger’s Apprentice,” and creator of the videos that taught me how to splice rope — and Carol Hasse‘s next door neighbor in Port Townsend — died from cancer.
So when we meet, we’ll celebrate life, and toast not only arrivals and the starts of new voyages, but also departures and the conclusions of past voyages.
