Greetings, my name is Chuck. I’m looking for one compatible individual to be a long-term (1 year+) crew member.
Plans include cruising Mexico for about a year (I’ve already sailed from San Francisco to La Paz), then joining the Pacific Puddle Jump in spring 2023 to sail to and around the South Pacific tropics and beyond. After that it’s up to us… Tahiti, Fiji, Bali, New Zealand, Thailand, Madagascar? Very open to influence on plans if the fit is right.
Attention ladies. This ship is a respectful environment. My little sis Leslie (check out our vid here) and friend Linda are on shore-based support. Happy to provide references upon request. Any questions or concerns please feel free to enquire.
Requirements
You are…
- Vegetarian or vegan, or willing to eat that way while aboard (on shore have whatever you want of course!)
- Generally available without daily time commitments (i.e., a fixed-hours job) or geographic deadlines (need to be at place X by day Y)
- Positive, optimistic, friendly, easy-going, cool under stress, genuine, a person of integrity, a self-starter
- Able and willing to engage in open and honest communication
- Ready to share the work of operating a small vessel
- Feel you have skills/talents/traits/qualities to offer/contribute
- Open-minded and open to and respectful of different world cultures
- An experienced or aspiring sailor, or enthusiastic and genuinely interested in learning
- Know how you fare with seasickness on the ocean
- Excited about both the challenges and the rewards of world cruising on a small boat
- Fairly certain this is the kind of lifestyle you want
- No fishing aboard
Expenses
- I pay all expenses for the boat, including fuel
- We share food and water expenses, or when dining out together, etc.
- You cover your own personal travel expenses, such as plane tickets, visas, immigration, personal travel while ashore, etc.
About the Skipper
Chuck dreams of visiting remote tropical islands and spent five years preparing his sailboat (and himself) for extended voyaging. Chuck is not a racer and prefers to sail conservatively and comfortably. He’s also very keen about safety, prudence, and proper seamanship. To help get a sense of who I am, you can also check out my YouTube channel here.
